Waring family papers, 1806-1974.

The collection contains the papers of William Griffith Waring, including his memoirs, 1880-1900; diaries, 1856-1859, 1882; farm diaries and account book, 1856-1859; correspondence, 1837-1878; and will, 1905. The papers of William George Waring include letters to his father during the Civil War, 1863-1865; music books, 1868; and patents and blueprints of experiments with zinc. Sister Mary Grace Waring's papers consist of letters to Pennsylvania State University and others, 1945-1974. Also, includes copies of Farmers' High School letters, 1859-1860; college letterpress copybook, 15 February 1859-30 November 1860; and class records, 1865-1866. Also, includes a photocopied booklet of news clippings about William Griffith Waring, "A Short History of the Warings," 1898; wills of John Holland of Hereford, England, 1806, and of Ann Roberts, 1836; correspondence to Hugh N. McAllister, 1859; and photographs of the Waring family.
